ESTABLISHING OPERATIONAL INDICATOR DEFINITIONS

One of ACAM's tasks is to develop operational definitions for each of the proposed asthma indicators. It is important that these definitions are applied consistently so that data can be collected in a uniform manner. ACAM is using the National Health Data Dictionary indicator definitions format to achieve this.

Once draft definitions have been developed, the National Information Management Group will consider them as the basis for the National Minimum Data Set for Asthma (NMDS- Asthma) and will seek national agreement from States and other bodies to assist, where necessary in the collection and supply of uniform information for this dataset.
